How does the upgrade to a Swimmer work?

When an opportunity arises during your tour, you can upgrade to a Swimmer for the day for $50 and participate in all in-water interactions with whale sharks and whales during the tour (No upgrade is required to swim with manta rays during your tour). If your group doesn’t get the chance to enter the water to swim with a whale shark or whale, we’ll refund the $50. We recommend upgrading at checkout to make the process easier.

What's the difference between this Ecotour and your Whale Shark and Humpback Whale tours?

The tours are almost identical other than:

The Ecotour is a more affordable option, offering essentially the same tour, and;
Tour Guarantees on our Ecotours. We happily refund our Ecotour guests who upgraded to Swimmer their $50 if their group didn’t get the chance to enter the water to swim with a whale shark or whale during their tour.

I am not a strong swimmer / first time snorkeller! Can I still join the tour?

Yes, you don’t need to be an Olympic swimmer to join us on tour, and you don’t have to have snorkelled before either, (although it does help!) Our crew includes numerous trained Snorkel Instructors with years of experience teaching people how to snorkel. Our team specialises in helping less confident, nervous and less experienced swimmers into the water, and swimming with a whale shark.
