Ningaloo Whaleshark Swim is one of the only whale shark tour companies on the Ningaloo Reef who choose to own and operate their own spotter plane. The whale shark tourism industry on the Ningaloo Reef relies heavily on spotter planes and pilots to significantly increase the chances of spotting a whale shark. We do not bait or feed the whale sharks or draw them in in any way. For our natural interactions, we need our eyes in the sky.
Whilst other companies share a spotter plane over multiple vessels to spot whale sharks, having our own spotter plane gives us the ability to move away from the crowd and find our own whale shark to swim with. Since our plane focuses on our vessel alone, instead of sharing this space and time with other boats, you get to spend longer swimming with a whale shark!
